Poland Honors the Tradition of a Constitution
Column: Embassy Life

Poland’s first Constitution was adopted in 1791, thus becoming one the world’s very first ones. To commemorate the event, the Embassy of Poland gave a reception on May 20. The heads of numerous diplomatic missions as well as Russian diplomats, politicians, entrepreneurs, senior officials of the ministries and agencies developing multilateral cooperation with the neighboring Slavic country congratulated Poland’s Ambassador, Jerzy Bahr, on the occasion. During the reception, the Ambassador spoke with A.P. Torshin, deputy chairman of the Federation Council, prominent writers and artists, clergymen, and representatives of the media.
As always, the reception demonstrated the variety of Polish cuisine and Polish hospitality. Due to the fine weather, the hosts turned the ambassadorial courtyard into yet another festive hall.
